Nando’s wanted to make a splash in the delivery world, and considered gamers as a key audience in doing so. But it turns out eating Nando's isn't super easy while gaming. The PERi-PERi that made our food so delicious, also made it messy.
So we found a solution to that problem, that fits right in with the gamer mentality of modding their gear.
We'd make utensils that slide into the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons, so you can eat and play - without getting your fingers dirty.
For a limited time, we'd allow Uber Eats customers to add a set of PERi-CoNS to their order.
And since all the techy-stuff is in the controllers people already owned, we'd allow users to download the plans and 3D print their own set once the promotion was over.
To promote our PERi-CoNS, we would utilise Twitch influencers, getting them to eat while they play via live stream. Their game play would be crazy (we never said it would be easy to play with these things!), creating humorous moments on the stream that would later be turned into ads on social. We would also host an online eating+gaming competitions between streamers.
